Flying limousine service
Heliservices provides Hong Kong's only aerial hotel limousine service for guests at The Peninsula Hotel on the Tsimshatsui waterfront. Capable of carrying up to five passengers, together with light luggage, Heliservices' Aerospatiale AS355N Twin Squirrel lands on the hotel's rooftop helipad.
Passengers are escorted to the helicopter from the China Clipper Lounge by the hotel's two duty controllers, in accordance with strict safety and security regulations laid down by the Civil Aviation Department. (Under these regulations only the twin-engine Squirrel is permitted to land on top of a building).
Flights are controlled by the air-traffic control tower at Chek Lap Kok Airport.
The China Clipper (left) provides the highest standards of luxury for passengers. Its unique collection of photographs and aeronautical artifacts was assembled from far and wide, from old friends of The Peninsula, former airline pilots and engineers, and avid collectors, some of whom can still recall with great affection those memorable times when the Clipper flying boats landing and taking off in Hong Kong Harbour epitomised glamour and adventure.
